Sample Answer for Task 1

The table illustrates the correlation between per capita beer consumption in 2002 and alcohol-related deaths in 2005 across several countries. Overall, higher beer consumption generally corresponds to higher alcohol-related mortality, with some exceptions.

The Czech Republic had the highest beer consumption in 2002, exceeding 130 liters per capita, and recorded over 1 million alcohol-related deaths by 2005, the highest among the countries. Germany followed, with nearly 107 liters consumed per capita and 1.185 million deaths, the second highest. Austria also showed high beer consumption and mortality rates. In contrast, Canada had the lowest beer consumption at 86 liters per capita but a mortality rate of 0.58 million, comparable to Ireland, despite Ireland’s higher consumption. This suggests other factors, such as health or economic conditions, influence mortality in Canada. Notably, female deaths were significantly lower than male deaths across all countries, reflecting lower alcohol consumption among women.

In summary, while a strong correlation exists between beer consumption and alcohol-related deaths, exceptions like Canada highlight additional influencing factors.

Sample Answer for Task 2

Many believe that children today enjoy greater freedom than previous generations. While I agree that children have more autonomy in certain areas, I believe modern constraints limit their overall freedom, creating a different kind of restriction.

Children today face fewer traditional restrictions. For instance, unlike 30 years ago when strict school dress codes penalized unconventional appearances, many schools now allow students to express themselves through choices like hair color. Some parents also grant children significant decision-making power, from daily routines to educational choices, treating them almost like adults. This reflects a shift toward greater personal freedom.

However, modern society imposes new limitations. Safety concerns, such as fears of kidnapping, lead parents to restrict outdoor activities, preventing children from enjoying unsupervised play like past generations. Additionally, many children voluntarily confine themselves to digital platforms like Instagram or online games, narrowing their experiences to virtual spaces. This self-imposed isolation can limit real-world exploration and social growth.

In conclusion, while children enjoy certain freedoms, modern safety concerns and digital distractions create new constraints. Effective parenting should balance autonomy with protection to ensure true freedom.
