The pie charts illustrate the distribution of coffee production, consumption, and profit across various regions and stakeholders.

South America leads coffee production, contributing 44% of the global supply, followed by Africa (19%), Asia (18%), and Central America (17%). Oceania accounts for a minimal 2%. In terms of consumption, Europe dominates with over 50% of global coffee consumption, significantly higher than North America and Japan, each at around 10%. The remaining 27% is consumed by other regions.

Profit distribution is uneven, with shippers receiving the largest share at 55%. Sellers earn 25%, while exporters and producers each receive 10%, splitting the remaining 20% equally.

Overall, while South America is the top producer, Europe consumes the most coffee, and shippers benefit most financially from the coffee industry.

Sample Answer for Task 2

The news media significantly influence people’s lives, and I agree that this impact is largely negative, as it often distorts perceptions and fosters anxiety, despite its role in disseminating information.

The media, including television, newspapers, and online platforms, shape various aspects of daily life. Entertainment fans follow celebrity news through tabloids, while global events, such as conflicts in the Middle East, reach audiences via news outlets. Without media, many would be unaware of global developments, making it an essential source of information.

However, this influence has drawbacks. Extensive coverage of negative events like terrorism, war, and violence creates a climate of fear and distress, potentially inciting unrest. Moreover, media reports can manipulate public perceptions, as they are often the sole source of information. Biased or inaccurate reporting may lead to misguided opinions, social unrest, or even global conflicts. For example, sensationalized news can amplify divisions within communities.

In conclusion, while the media informs, its tendency to distort and provoke anxiety outweighs its benefits. Individuals must critically evaluate news to mitigate its negative effects.
