Sample Answer for Task 1
The tables compare urban residents’ opinions on six aspects of life in 1980 and 2010.
Overall, most residents viewed all categories positively. Education and healthcare received the highest approval, while shops, transport, environment, and accommodation had more negative feedback.
In 1980, 82% of respondents rated education positively, followed by shops (75%) and environment (72%). However, only 54% and 56% were satisfied with transport and accommodation, respectively, which also had the highest neutral opinions at 31% and 34%. Negative feedback was highest for shops and transport (14% each), compared to just 6% for education.
By 2010, opinions had shifted significantly. Healthcare and shops saw increased approval, reaching 83% and 81%, respectively, making them the top-ranked aspects. Conversely, satisfaction with the environment and accommodation declined, with negative opinions rising to 20% and 18%, respectively, compared to only 7% for healthcare. Neutral opinions across all aspects decreased notably over the 30-year period.

Sample Answer for Task 2
The rising involvement of young people in crime is a pressing issue, and the best approach to address it remains debated. While educating parents on parenting skills is one method to reduce youth crime, I believe it must be combined with other measures to be effective.
Parents, as the primary influencers of their children, play a crucial role in shaping behavior. Many youth crimes stem from inadequate parenting, such as a lack of guidance or education about criminal consequences. Enhancing parenting skills can therefore help reduce juvenile delinquency by fostering better decision-making in children.
However, parental education alone is insufficient, as many youths are more influenced by peers or teachers due to the significant time spent at school. For instance, in Vietnam, high school students often face negative peer pressure, leading to behaviors like alcohol or drug use, which contribute to crime. Schools should incorporate education on the consequences of criminal behavior and strategies to resist peer pressure into their curricula to address this.
In conclusion, while improving parenting skills is a valuable approach to reducing youth crime, it is not the sole solution. A combination of parental education and school-based initiatives is necessary for effective prevention.
