Sample Answer for Task 1

The diagrams illustrate how the layout of a school library changed over a period of five years.

Overall, significant changes were made to the library’s interior design, particularly on the western side.

A recording studio was constructed, replacing the classroom area. While the meeting room remained unchanged, the borrowing and returning desk was divided into two separate rooms. In the center of the library, additional private study tables were set up for students. Five years ago, there were two areas for bookshelves in the northern and southern parts of the library; however, the southern bookshelves, along with the computer desks on the eastern side, were replaced with desks for students’ laptops. Additionally, the library office was removed to make way for a new conference room.

Sample Answer for Task 2

Technological advancements have enabled people to use mobile phones to answer work or personal calls at any time, seven days a week. While there are some negative consequences for individuals and society, I believe these are outweighed by the positive effects.

For individuals, the ability to answer work calls at any time can significantly enhance work efficiency. In the era of globalization, international cooperation between companies is common and necessary. Being able to communicate with business partners across different time zones is a significant advantage. On a broader scale, this contributes to economic development and an improved standard of living. Additionally, individuals benefit from constant connectivity with loved ones, allowing them to seek help in emergencies or maintain relationships with those far away, fostering a more connected society.

However, this development has drawbacks. Constant availability reduces privacy, even at home, and workers may face increased workloads, leaving less time for family. Nevertheless, a work-life balance can be maintained by simply turning off the phone after work hours or when privacy is desired.

In conclusion, despite some drawbacks, the use of mobile phones for work and personal calls brings more benefits to individuals and society.
