Sample Answer for Task 2
Human history is marked by numerous transformative inventions, and some argue that the internet is the most significant among them. While the internet has undeniably reshaped modern life, I believe its importance is surpassed by electricity and computers, which are more foundational.
The internet has brought substantial benefits. It provides access to vast information resources, enabling efficient research for work or study. For example, online databases and articles are readily available to anyone with an internet connection. Additionally, internet-based communication tools, such as social media, have revolutionized connectivity, allowing people to maintain relationships across long distances, replacing slower methods like letters.
However, electricity, introduced in the early 19th century, is a more fundamental invention, powering countless devices, including those that enable the internet. Similarly, computers are critical, serving as the backbone for data processing and storage, and laying the groundwork for the internet’s existence. Without computers, the internet would not have been possible.
In conclusion, while the internet is a powerful invention, electricity and computers are more essential due to their foundational roles in modern society.
